TRAINING CENTER
Main function of the Institute is to satisfy Air Tanzania Training needs.
It meets this task by providing in-house training for ATCL Operations, Commercial and Technical Departments.
All training is approved by Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA).
The various Courses include Recurrent, Refresher, Requalification, a/c Conversion Courses for
- ATCL Cabin Crew staff
- ATCL Passenger and Cargo Handling staff
Also, Institute conducts Cabin Crew
- Type Rating Courses and Conversion Courses for all ATCL fleets
- Flight Purser Courses
- Senior Cabin Crew Courses
- Forward Galley Course
Due to public demand and to answer manpower shortage of Aviation disciplines in aviation industry,
The Institute, as approved by TCAA, conducts courses for non-ATCL personnel, such as the Ab-initio Cabin Crew Training.

Acquire the expertise and required knowledge to qualify as a cabin crew member by joining the
Ab-initio Cabin Crew training at the Air Tanzania Training Institute.
Course prerequisites
Minimum age of 18 years old.
- Willingness to work in hospitality fields and possessing a positive attitude
- Fluent in Kiswahili and English
- Minimum height of 5.4” or 165cm (on tiptoes for female)
- Minimum education level O level with passes in English and Geography.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work within a multinational team.
- Passionate about customer service and travelling.
- Excellent health and fitness
- Multi lingual capability e.g., Arabic, Chinese, French, shall be of added value to student during job seeking.

Special Baggage Items
Dear customer we take this opportunity to inform you the details of special baggage items and this is due to limited space on our aircraft. You need to reserve for the transportation of some types of special baggage as early as possible, if you want to transport items which are not day-to-day objects, such as extensive sports equipment or hunting weapons.
Please familiarize yourself with the valid regulations before you travel and make sure your reservation is confirmed before departure to ensure that you can take your special baggage with you. You can simply contact Air Tanzania Cargo representative on +255 754 334 898.
Amongst several items we have listed the most crucial items as listed below;-

Alcoholic beverages
Are not allowed unless they are purchased on a transit basis

Bicycles
Sport Bicycles - Air Tanzania recommends that bicycles be packed in Nylon sacks or in cardboard enclosures, with tires deflated and handlebars turned parallel to the frame. Bicycles can be carried within the passenger’s free baggage allowance.

Wheelchairs
Air Tanzania does not provide onboard wheelchairs; in case there is passenger own wheelchairs are allowed with a tag on at no cost.

Musical instruments
Musical instrument natures is fragile, therefore may be carried in the cabin.

Golf and Fishing equipment
Golf equipment bag and club sets must be carried as a cargo or checked-in baggage.

Pole Vaulting Poles
Can be accepted only if Space Control has confirmed it at the time of booking (packed in textile sacks) poles shall be packed individually.

Firearms and Ammunition
Special regulations apply to the transportation of sporting and hunting firearms and ammunition. Weapons and ammunition are not allowed due to type of aircraft.

Shotgun or pistol
As per Government of Tanzania regulations, a bona-fide passenger can carry one licensed revolver or pistol or shotgun in registered baggage after declaring them at check-in and meeting all safety and security requirements. A prescribed form is to be filled in by the passenger and verified by the Airline Manager.

Perishables
Perishable items are not allowed on-board.

Shooting Equipment
Shooting equipment is allowed as checked baggage only. It must be properly packed to protect its content. Cameras and flash are allowed on board.

Diving Equipment
Diving cylinders must be empty. The power source or bulb must be removed from diving lamps and the switch must be secured in the "OFF" position. A set of equipment can be carried free if not exceeding the Baggage limit together with other baggage. Total dimensions and weight shall be indicated in the PNR.

Valued items
Gold, Jewelries, Laptops and cash are not accepted as checked-in baggage.

Cash Payments
You can make cash payments at any ATCL office or any nearest travel agent.
Dear Customer,
Kindly be informed that you will need to present the credit/debit card used for making payment, for your tickets at the check-in counters prior to departure.
If the Card Owner is not traveling, one must submit a signed authorization letter for the card to used. This letter must have the following details; approval to purchase the ticket, Origin and Destination, Amount paid, Full contacts of the credit card holder as well as a photocopy of his Passport or National ID.
The above documents MUST be produced at the time of check-in. If the passenger fails to comply with the above mentioned conditions, Passenger will be denied boarding.
However, if Verified by Visa’ or ‘MasterCard® SecureCode™’ security feature is enabled by your card company, then the aforesaid verification processes will not be required. After inserting your card details, you will be directed to a webpage where you can enter your security details (ex-one time password) given by your issuing bank if in case your card is verified in the aforesaid manner. Check with your credit card issuing bank to find out if your card is ‘Verified by Visa’ or ‘MasterCard® SecureCode™’.
