The cosmopolitan, welcoming capital is said to be home to 1 in 10 Zambians and you’ll find most of them enjoying the city’s excellent choice of bars and restaurants in the evening. Also take time to check out the Lechwe Trust Art Gallery, which supports the work of emerging local artists. Visit the Sunday Crafts market every Sunday, Nembo Scenic Park to get a bird eye’s view of the country, Zambia National Museum and the Lusaka National Park (newest but smallest national park). Just 15km south of the city is Munda Wanga Environmental Park and there’s the chance to see lions, elephants and zebras at the Chaminuka Game Reserve, which is about a 40-minute drive from the city.
